The 2020 Budget was originally scheduled to take place on 6 November 2019, but the snap general election held on 12 December 2019 postponed this. We are still awaiting the details of the Budget, which is now due to be held on 11 March 2020. This is considerably later than Budgets have been delivered in previous years, and unfortunately this is having a considerable impact on year end processes for payroll and payroll software development.
Please be assured that we are in close contact with HMRC, ensuring that we receive updates as soon as they are available. In the meantime, you can pay your employees as normal for tax year 2019/2020 however year-end processes cannot be completed until we are able to receive final information from HMRC and provide an update release (7.09) of our software.
Our plan is to have our release available for mid-March, however until we have confirmation of changes from HMRC we cannot be sure of the impact this will have on the delivery of our software. We do apologise, however these factors are outside of our control. We will make sure that you are kept up to date with progress as regularly as possible.
